HOPE FOR A NEW GENERATION

HOPE FOR A NEW GENERATION "NO DISTANCE IS TOO FAR TO REACH A CHILD"

HOPE FOR A NEW GENERATION "NO DISTANCE IS TOO FAR TO REACH A CHILD" HOPE FOR A NEW GENERATION "NO DISTANCE IS TOO FAR TO REACH A CHILD"

Every child of God deserves the right to an equal education, including those who require special assistance. Music is a perfect opportunity to reach them in every culture. By using the arts, children can learn about philosophy, history, science, and religion. For example, utilizing music as an education tool within our community can create a pathway to develop many other skills in a child’s overall education experience. Giving a child the right opportunity to learn music can develop a basic understanding of music as a form of expression, and an appreciation for all genres of music. Music is an important chore of our current popular culture as well as a defining characteristic of our past; therefore, music education can bring the spiritual knowledge and understanding in our community.

The importance of music in our programs

Music is at the core of our programs, for a number of reasons:

  Here's Why!

  • Music has a positive influence in developing young children’s skills, such as memory and reasoning. Providing children with such an environment supports the children’s development and healthy growth.

  • Children who participate actively in music do well in math and reading and are able to control the focus of their bodies. They also have a higher self-esteem and interact well with their peers (Alfred DuPont, 2008).

  • Researchers have documented that students participating in playing music instruments after class scored higher on the reading and mathematics than their non-music peers. (Bound Seniors National Report, 2001.) The children attending the program will be taught music education and taught how to play a number of musical instruments and sing in choirs exercises that shall benefit the children in ways elaborated above.

  • When students participate in music activities after class work, research has shown that they perform better in reading and math. (Alfred DuPont, 2008).
